The Suzuki GSX-R600 is a 600 cc class, or supersport, sport bike in Suzuki’s GSX-R series of motorcycles.
Produced since 1992, the GSX-R 600 (like the 750 and the 1000) has been profoundly modified since 2000: the K1, K2 and K3 models are the first 600 of their generation to abandon the carburetors in favor of the electronic injection, benefiting from a considerable increase in performance and a reduction in consumption; important changes are also made to the chassis, and in addition to the classic blue / white, red / black and gray / black colors, it is proposed in the Telefonica Movistar and Alstare Corona liveries.
The peculiar characteristics of this bike are the lightness, agility and stability in curves, conferred by the double aluminum beam frame, in addition to a particularly brilliant drive torque compared to the competitors of the time (Yamaha R6, Kawasaki ZX6-R and Honda CBR). For this reason, the GSX-R K1 has enjoyed the reputation of a small sports car feared even by motorcycles equipped with more horses and greater volume. The quiet delivery has made it a bike accessible to all, ideal for riders with little or no expert knowledge.
The “rounded” fairing, able to offer an efficient aerodynamic shelter to the pilot. represents a trend reversal compared to competitors, which instead were equipped with more “angular” hulls. The 0–100 km/h takes place in less than 3.5 seconds and reaches 270 km/h.
Even after the heavy aesthetic restyling carried out in 2007, it remains a very widespread motorcycle due to its proverbial mechanical reliability, combined with an electronic system that was initially problematic but readily optimized by the company already in the first months of warranty launch.
